Jose and I eloped in 2017. We weren't planning on it but the opportunity to marry presented itself and we took it. I love telling our elopement story! We were looking for a house to purchase where we could settle down. We knew we didn't need to be married to do that but it would benefit us to use the Veteran Administration benefits. Jose is a veteran of the Navy. He likes to say that I married him for his benefits.  

One evening, I was scrolling Facebook and a friend of mine who is a photographer posted that her friend who was an officiant had a marriage license available that was going to expire. I don't know what happened to the couple who had planned to use it. The officiant offered to marry a couple for $100 in her home office but it had to be done within the next 3 days. I looked at Jose with a huge smile on my face, showed him the post, and he said "Let's do it - let's elope!" Three days later, we were married in Officiant Elysia's home office on a Wednesday evening while I was wearing flip flops! 

This year (2022), we celebrate 5 years of marriage and I am excited to marry others and support them in their elopement journey. I would be honored to be a part of your exciting elopement story.
